What to do with an empty nest?

We're in our fifties and the kids are grown and gone. What to do now? Why not figure out how to grow our own food and explore the blogging world?

We've been inspired by other brave folks who invite us via blog, YouTube, and novel to share their homesteading, backyard farming, and gardening adventures. This is a way to chronicle our journey to eat locally and produce our own food, including meat, vegetables, fruit, nuts and grains.

Our journey began with a simple goal: Improve our health. We now have a mission: To transform our personal relationship with food, to eat food grown organically by either local farmers or ourselves, and to enjoy ourselves in the process. We're not purists, but we're strong, confident and enthusiastic.
